In 2017, speaker, comedian and author Michael Lifshitz of Illumabilities set out to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday by raising $15,000 for Easter Seals Canada through their Drop Zone Challenge, a fundraiser where participants raise a minimum goal in order to be allowed to rappel off an office building. Michael named the initiative the Drop150 Challenge. In 2017, Michael rappelled in 5 cities (Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax), raising $5,920. Going with the theory it took 150 years to make Canada, Michael figures he has another 149 years to get to his goal of $15,000 so is continuing to rappel until he hits $15,000. In 2018, he added a further $1,959 to the tally. Is 2019 the year he hits the $15,000? You can help by joining the team or donating.
